Import Products Wizard
This wizard lets you import products from a suppliers electronic catalogue.
This wizard is opened from the
products menu or with the short-cut CTRL+I.
You typically import products each time your supplier provides you with a new catalogue.
BookStore will track what is in / out of the catalogue and automatically update your catalogue
based upon these imports. Products which you cannot sell because you have no stock and they are not
in your suppliers catalogue, will be shown as grey in the
products screen (for things like
the sales wizard they will not be shown).
Select a file containing the electronic catalogue. Currently only the following suppliers are supported,
however if you contact maxant, we will happily add support for your other suppliers free of charge.
Once you have chosen the file, you can also choose whether the import should automatically update the prices
(RRP) of the items in your catalogue. The "ballpark" is set in the
configuration. You would typically tick this box if you have updated
your configuration and want those changes to take effect.
When you click on the OK button, BookStore will show you a progress bar. The import can take several minutes.
After the import BookStore will tell you it went OK. View the products screen
to see the effects that the import had on your catalogue.
